I was fighting off a cold in the latter part of the week and this affected both my Thu marathon effort run (11 out of 13 miles) and my Sunday 21-miler. In the former I managed 6:30-pace within the right HR zone despite feeling under-par. In the latter, I was fine up to about 15 miles, but had to slow significantly in the last 6 miles. Still, the overall pace over 21 miles was still a respectable 7:20/mile.

Next week will see a planned reduction in mileage as the Sunday long run will be replaced with the cross-country league race at Ampthill. I may also consider dropping (or scaling down) my normal Thu marathon-pace effort if I'm still feeling tired.
All-in-all, I'm still happy with my preparations. M-day does seem to be getting quite close now though...
